Movie Review: “The Book of Henry”

The Book of Henry
Rated PG-13

I apologize for only having one movie review, especially since we’re in movie “high season,” but we were out of the country and didn’t see many movies.

Henry, a precocious 11-year old, is the family caretaker to his childlike single mother and younger brother. When he realizes their young neighbor is being abused by her stepfather, the family takes action.

The following may seem cryptic, but I don’t want to be a movie spoiler. While I liked The Book of Henry, it was not the movie I thought it would be based on the trailer. That said, it was interesting to see the loving, yet dysfunctional family dynamics. Also, I found myself rooting for the family, but questioning the morality of their plan.
