Style: Customizing a Necklace

Because I’m petite, I’m used to taking clothes to the tailor to be altered. So when I bought this dogeared necklace (click here for information) and thought it was a bit too long, I decided to shorten it.  I wanted it to fall between my clavicles rather than on my décolletage.  This new length is exactly what I wanted and is much more flattering for my body.

I simply cut off the excess length and made a new loop with very thin wire to connect the chain and clasp.  If you’re not a do-it-youselfer, any jeweler can make this change for a small fee.
